Never been to a "B&B" before?...Here's
a little bit about our inn...
"I
hope you will quickly
feel at home at 63 Orange Street.
It is my sincere desire
that you fully
enjoy your stay"
Jackie Kent, Inn Keeper
The three-course home-cooked breakfast
is a treat not to be missed. The menu changes from season to season taking advantage of the freshest ingredients possible. Coffee is set up at 7:30
AM in the hallway outside the rooms allowing early risers time to enjoy coffee
leisurely in their room, on a private balcony, or while rocking on the front porch as the “Ancient City” comes alive. At 9:00
AM, a scrumptious breakfast is served in the
dining room. The menu includes fresh fruit, homemade sweet and savory baked items, hearty entrees, and delicious breakfast desserts. If you prefer an earlier breakfast or have special dietary needs, please notify the innkeeper in advance.
Afternoon
refreshments
are served at our B&B on weekend afternoons. Fruit and cheese or hors de oeuvres are offered with fresh coffee, tea or wine. The cookie jar is always full.

Historic Beginnings...
Jackie Kent is an
innkeeper whose dream of
owning a bed and breakfast
in a very old house has
come true and pampering
and caring for her guests
is her priority.
Her personal attention to
every detail and helping
every guest feel special
is her way of making your
stay more comfortable,
more enjoyable and more
memorable.
The restoration of this
grand 1884 home
kept Jackie hunting from
Alabama to North Carolina
for antiques and
furnishings. In every way
possible the house was
returned to its original
state.
Every bit of
original wood in the house
was salvaged and
re-utilized. Two areas in
particular have a wall
that is the original
exterior wall with
untouched authentic paint!
The original claw foot
tubs were refinished and
replaced in the new
bathrooms. As the work
progressed, two autograph
books were found hiding in
a crevice of the house.
Dated 1879-1880, they
belonging to Hattie and
Charles Vedder who were
later found to be the
first owners of the house.
